Landlord Insurance

What is landlord insurance?

Landlord insurance covers the cost of rebuilds and repairs if your property is damaged allowing you and your tenants to get back to normal as quickly as possible.

Whether you’re a first-time landlord, have a buy-to-let investment or you’re managing multiple properties, you’ll want to ensure you have the correct insurance to protect your investments should the worst happen.

How does landlord insurance work?

Landlord insurance typically covers damage to the property due to fire, floods, theft, subsidence and more. Permanent fixtures and fittings such as fitted kitchens and built-in wardrobes can be covered too as can outside spaces like driveways, patios and gates.

Contents insurance can also be provided to cover any household items such as furnishings, carpets or appliances. The tenants possessions are not covered and they will need to obtain their own insurance.

Dependant on your needs, additional items can be covered such as the replacements of locks, liability protection for injury and damage, along with additional cover for fixtures and fittings such as windows, supply pipes and cables.
